Stained Glass Window Update

Since 2007, we have been working on the complete restoration of our lovely, historic windows.  Actual work began in 2009 on the Young Jesus Window (facing Chillicothe Street).  This window, along with the large Good Shepherd grouping (on the south wall), was completed in 2010.  Dayton Art Glass has recently completed the exterior work on all four accent windows.

Within the next three weeks, two of the accent windows (those located on the south wall next to the Good Shepherd grouping) will be re-installed.  By late spring, the two remaining accent windows (located along Chillicothe Street) should also be finished and re-installed...

Thanks to the generous donations given towards this work by our congregation and friends of the church, we have been able to continue on with our restoration goals.  Following the re-installation of all four accent windows, we hope to begin work on the Harp window located at the front of the sanctuary.  This window will be restored in honor of women who have been influential in our lives.  This window was chosen because of its unique beauty.  Donations towards the restoration of this window are welcomed.  Work on this window will begin once sufficient funds are received.

Following the restoration of the Harp window, work will be done on the Rose Window (also located at the front of the sanctuary) and the windows in the original entryway (facing Chillicothe Street).  This will complete Phase I of the Restoration Project.  Phase II will focus on the restoration of the Prayer Room windows and, as funds are received, the remaining stained glass windows that adorn our hallways.

Some of the finished windows have been fully funded in memory of loved ones and memorial plaques will be installed.  If anyone is interested in making a donation towards this project, they may contact Jane Hildebrand regarding any financial questions.  All inquiries made to Jane are strictly confidential.  General questions about the overall project may be directed to Sue Reisenweaver or Sarah Wildman.
